I'm sure it's fine, but I would suggest running. I'm old, so I remember how much Hurricane Alicia sucked.

Remember run from water, hide from wind, and don't be an idiot.

Friday, September 16, 2005 - Sunday Sunday SUNDAY!!!

Here's where we'll be:

Sunday Sonorities
September 18 , 2005, 6pm
$5 (Cheap!)
DiverseWorks Theater

"DiverseWorks introduces our newest Performing Arts offering: Sunday Sonorities. In an effort to bring together innovative composers, Artists Board Member Thomas Helton has developed a series featuring musicians of all stripes - jazz specialists, classical innovators, and composers who defy categorization - to show off their newest original compositions. The first edition starts off with four of Houston's best composers and improvisors. New works by Eddie Lewis (trumpet), Carol Morgan (trumpet), Drop Trio (jazz funk), and John Edward Ross (jazz)."

Later that night we'll be at the Meridian paying tribute to our departed friend Tim McGlashen who died July 12th of this year. Other bands on the bill include Chris Whitely, The Buddhacrush Norma Zenteno, Orange Is In, and for the first time in 7 years The Zealots. The show starts early 6pm with the Meridian's doors opening at 5.

See you there and there.

The Live Archive is back!!! This weeks addition is an improv titled "Jeff Rocks." Jeff is the one and only Jeff Balke, bass player for Orange is In and one super rad photographer.

Wednesday, September 07, 2005 - Johnny V. in H-town

This Friday (Sept. 9) at 7pm at HCC Town and Country Performing Arts Center featuring legendary New Orleans drummer Johnny Vidacovich. Johnny has become even more well known in recent years due to the success of one of his students, Stanton Moore of Galactic and Garage A Trois. Here's some info.

Johnny will also perform with the Erin Wright Trio in the Woodlands area Saturday night (Sept. 10) from 7:30-10:30 at Louie's.

Here is a short video of Johnny being RAD!!!

Also this Friday our friends the Psychodillos are playing at the Rhythm Room with New Orleans' New Birth Brass Band. This show is a benefit for hurricane relief.

Sunday, September 04, 2005 -

Thanks to a cool promotion at CD Baby, we're now donating all the profits from sales of our latest album, Leap, to relief efforts. If you haven't bought a copy yet, why not do it now? Everybody wins - you get some new music, we get a new listener, and folks who need help in New Orleans will get it. In the words of Derek Silvers from CD Baby: "You may think that a few sales won't help, but with thousands of musicians banded together to do this, I think it will help a LOT of people get their lives back together after this disaster."
