Friday, March 31, 2006 - ATX in the house!

Tickets just went on sale (like, at 11am CST) for the ATX fest, a great new festival happening in Austin on April 28th and 29th. Drop Trio will be playing on the 2nd day of the festival (4/29) at 5:00pm. It'll be held at the Paggi House (200 Lee Barton, Austin, TX 78704) and 2-day passes are $25. Get your tickets here (and type in "Drop Trio" at the coupon code, so we get paid extra for your ticket!) First hundred tickets sold get a free autographed poster.

We'll be on the bill with Tea Leaf Green, RAQ, Olospo, Spoonfed Tribe, Grassy Knoll Boys, Moses Guest, Larry, Collect All Five, Gnappy, Groovin Ground, Moving Matter, Ephraim Owens, Little Brother Project, and more. It's an All Ages show, doors are at 4pm on Friday and 1pm Saturday. See you there!

Thursday, March 30, 2006 - Don't call it Emerald City

We've caught a break from playing while I'm visiting suprisingly sunny Seattle. Unsurprisingly, the trip has had plenty of spaceships and jazz.

Thursday, March 23, 2006 - ATX Fest

The lineup for the ATX Fest was just announced, and it looks like it's gonna be a doozy! Drop Trio joins Tea Leaf Green, Olospo, Raq, Spoonfed Tribe, Moses Guest, Larry, Collect All Five, Gnappy, Groovin' Ground, Moving Matter, Ephraim Owens, Little Brother Project, and more, for 2 days of non-stop music in Austin on April 28th & 29th. 2-day passes are only $25 (take that, ACL) and tickets go on sale next week. Rad!

Tuesday, March 21, 2006 - SxSW is a wrap

Thanks to everybody who came to our SxSW show! We love ya. We'll put some pics up soon. You can check out Ian's blog-tastic coverage of the festival over here at the Houston Chronicle.

In the mean time, tune in to Radio Mike ... here's what he has to say about DT:
DROP TRIO, our Favorite spaceship Jazz from Texas, is Always Incredible and we doubt there is another like them. Their arrangements and Improvisations are tight enough to warrant an impeccably produced Live CD. And it is indeed very good. They’ve already produced at Least two Other CDs as well so the word Prolific comes to mind. Indeed, you should Listen and Listen often.
Thanks Mike. Tune in everybody, he picks up some great new music.
