Our new CD, Cezanne, is in rotation on
The Upper Room with Joe Kelley - it's a great show, you can tune in online. Check it out!

   Today's
live archive track is another one from our latest show at Brasil on 11/4 - it's the tune
Abbey Rhodes, at its weirdest.

BTW, have you tuned in to our
Podcast yet? A podcast is content (music, radio programs, etc.) that's downloaded directly to your computer so you can listen to it when you're ready (kinda like Tivo). All of our live archive releases come out in our podcast form, too, so that's an easy way to keep up with 'em.

Hope you and yours are having a great Thanksgiving! Some of us will be feasting on this:

The rest of us think that's ridiculous, and will be feating on this:

Whatever you feast on, be thankful.

   Hey, take a sec and
rate drop trio on the new Envy Houston bands site. It won't hurt, I promise.
While you're there, check out
how many friggin' bands there are in Houston! That is not a small number!

   This just in from
David Beebe:
I got a call today that one of my contemporaries is in the hospital after suffering a heart attack and stroke. It's Stephen Adams, leader of the Dreambreakers, a man who is a musical genius ... I roller skated over to St Joseph's ICU to visit him and was surprised to actually get in to see him (sans skates, of course) ... His heart signs looked good. As a heart condition guy myself, I know how to read these machines and I was surprised at the decent and stable numbers. The stroke situation is definitely more scary. Way more scary. He is not currently awake, and does not respond to speech or moving his appendages around. The nurse says he does defintely respond to pain, needles and discomfort. That's a very good sign, but no one will know for sure if he's suffered brain damage until he comes out of the fog. I'll be going back to visit him tomorrow. He's in St Joseph's ICU, Floor 4, Room 3 for anyone who knows him.
Any of you who know Stephen or the Dreambreakers, please do pay him a visit.

Thanks to the fine folks at
JamHouston.com, we're excited to offer a new way to listen to Drop Trio tracks:
Drop Trio Radio.

The streaming radio station offers an ever-growing assortment of tracks from our 3 official releases, as well as lots of previously unreleased concert tracks, live archive tidbits, etc. Give it a listen and
let us know what you think!

Tonight Patrick and I will be on Houston's
90.1 KPFT at 11pm with Sandy from the
Dead Air show. We'll be spinning tracks from "
Cezanne" and talking about our
upcoming show with
Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey at the
Engine Room. We're also going to play a track or two from the new JFJO CD "
The Sameness of Difference". If you haven't heard it yet, tune in for a sample. For those of you who are not in Houston you can
listen on line here.

We've been informed that the December 1st
Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey / Drop Trio show in Houston that was originally scheduled for Warehouse Live has now been moved to the
Engine Room. All you Houston folks should know where the Engine Room is, right? Well, we hope you are there in force for this incredible show with our good friends JFJO. Make it so!
By the way, if you haven't checked out the Fred's new album,
The Sameness Of Difference, please do yourself a favor and check it out.

It is truly astounding.

   This week's
live archive is posted. (OK, it's a day late ... sorry!) The track is a short improv we did last Friday night at Brasil. We thought it sounded kinda like a Europe song, only not so much, so we called it
The Antepenultimate Countdown. (If you don't know what antepenultimate means,
go look it up.)
Also, we fixed a problem with last week's podcast, so you should get last week's and this week's together. You're subscribed to our podcast,
right?
For the record, we did some other Live Archive maintenance, too. We found a few older files that were missing (since we moved servers a few months back). Most of those are up and working now, so your
Drop Trio Radio experience should be entirely uninterrupted. Feel free to go on a
downloading binge.
(And for those of you who care, we've removed many of the
FLAC files on the page, for bandwidth reasons. If that bothers you, just let us know. We'll continue to post FLAC files for newer releases, and then remove them after a month or two.)

   Check out some
great photos of our set last week at Austin's Elephant Room, taken by the one and only
Radio Mike. Thanks for being awesome, Mike!
Listen to his show, everybody.

For our Beaumont friends, please note that our show tonight at Carlo's has been cancelled. Sorry for the late notice, we just found out; if you showed up and didn't find us,
let us know, we've got a special thank you / apology gift for ya.

Thanks to all our great Austin friends who came to hang out last night at the
Elephant Room (and
End of an Ear). We had a blast playing for you all. Today's
live archive is a track from last night's first set,
Flux. Share and enjoy.
Houston friends: join us tonight at Brasil for a listening party & show!
Read more, and
RSVP if you're coming.
BTW, got another
review of Cezanne in All About Jazz today. Thanks Mr. Sabbatini!

If you're in Austin, TX, come join us on Thursday at the
Elephant Room. We'd love to see you. You're
invited, even!
Also, as mentioned on the
Ist List, we'll be playing an in-store show at
End Of An Ear records at 6pm (also on Thursday). End Of An Ear is a cool little shop, and it hasn't been open long, so you can still feel
hip and
cutting edge by going there before all your friends.
