Wednesday, May 31, 2006 - Austin / San Antonio

Austin - Thursday, June 1, 10pm, Lovejoy's (604 Neches St.)

San Antonio - Friday, June 2, 11pm, Sunset Station (1174 E. Commerce St.)

Friday afternoon (June 2) we have an interview on San Antonio's 91.7 KTRU at 2:30. You can listen live online with a clickity click here. I've been listening to the station all morning and it rules.

Saturday, May 27, 2006 - The word spreads

Last night's "secret" DT show at Brasil was a lot of fun. Apparently it wasn't quite as much of a secret as we thought, since a bunch of you came out and hung out with us. Which was rad.

No public Houston shows currently booked until July, but we'll let you know when something pops up.

Thursday, May 25, 2006 - NIT @ Brasil

Friday night (05/26) from 9 to midnight, Nuje Improv Trio will be back at Brasil (2604 Dunlavy @ Westheimer). Patrick will be on bass (probably not trumpet), and Al Bear on guitar. We'll have a surprise keyboard player in da house too.

Saturday BlaBat will be at Super Happy Fun Land. Blabat is Nino Batista and me. Drums and bass...and noise...I'm sure it'll be fine. Alrighty then. See you there, plural.

Friday, May 19, 2006 - Troubador

Drop Trio plays first, somewhere between 9:30 and 10 most likely. Then Groovin' Ground plays. More info here as it unfolds.

Also, in case you're not up to speed on Groovin' Ground, the esteemed Jarle Lillemoen (from Grass) has joined the band on guitar. And since Mo Pair (also from Grass) also plays with Groovin' Ground, that's practically a quorum. Or something. Suffice it to say that it'll be awesome.

Thursday, May 18, 2006 - Improv Trio (Houston), Drop Trio (Austin)

Two shows this weekend to mention:

Friday May 19 - From 9 to midnight I'll be at Brasil (2604 Dunlavy St @ Westheimer) playing Two sets of improvised music with Richard Z (keys - Us and Them & the Morrison Resurrection Experiment) and Josh Matranga (bass - Plump and Vibe Committee).

Saturday May 20 - Drop Trio will be at the The Troubadour Saloon (503 E. 6th St., Austin, TX) with our good friends Groovin Ground. Our set starts around 10.

See you there.

Monday, May 15, 2006 - Even if it's just one note ...

Here's a snippet from our last performance, at the ATX festival in Austin. The interview was aired on KOOP last week:

Drop Trio @ ATX Fest

"There's always something in there that everybody could relate to at some point or another. Even if it's just one note."

Friday, May 12, 2006 - GPF with Mark Lewis

Patrick will be playing with the Mark Lewis Trio this Saturday night at Clark's (314 Main Street). Show starts around 10.

Tuesday, May 09, 2006 - New Host

FYI - we've moved our site to a new web host, WebSiteSource.com. We've transferred all the data over, but if you run into any broken links, do please let us know. More site changes coming soon ...

Saturday, May 06, 2006 - No Houston Show Tonight

Hi all - just to be clear, there will not be a Drop Trio show in Houston tonight, 5/6. Our calendar originally showed a show at the ASHS warehouse tonight, but it's been postponed until later in the summer.

If you're stuck looking for something else to do this evening, might we suggest:

Wednesday, May 03, 2006 - Improv Trio

Come hang this Friday at Brasil (2604 Dunlavy St @ Westheimer) to see the first ever Nuje Improv Trio show. Patrick will be on bass along with Al Bear (from Plump and LTB Trio) on guitar. Two sets of improvised funk/jazz starting around 9.

Monday, May 01, 2006 - ATX Fest

ATX Fest this weekend was pretty cool. We met lots of cool bands and heard tons of great music. You can read more about it and see pics of lots of bands HERE.

Here's a pic from our set:
