We hope you can come out and celebrate our many years of making the earth a safe haven for spaceship jazz. Here's a little FAQ for you.
Q: Wait, why are these your final shows?
A: Well, life is complicated, and it's hard to make a living producing avant garde instrumental music. It's also hard to do it casually when the members of the band are separated by hundreds of miles. We gave it a good shot, but it wasn't in the cards.
Q: Will you ever play again?
A: Maybe, if we get the chance. But then it'll be a "reunion show", not a "show show".
Q: What are you guys doing now?
A: Patrick finished graduate school in Seattle, and now he is starting a new job at Columbia Law School. Nuje started his own business in the Woodlands teaching young'uns to hit things with sticks better. Ian finished graduate school and is living in Austin, trying to figure out how to play pedal steel guitar, and starting a new job to boot. So, yeah, we're all really busy. :)
Q: I thought you guys already broke up, like, 3 years ago.
A: Well, not officially. We were waiting to see if the universe moved us back into a more copacetic orbit, logistically. But, it did not. But really, that is OK, because nothing lasts forever. Anyway, we figured now would be a good time for some closure.
Q: I'm sad.
A: That's not a question, soldier! There's no crying in spaceship jazz!
Seriously, hope you can come say "goodbye for now", and maybe buy a copy of Leap or twelve (man, have we got a lot of those!).
